The Pollution Control and Ecology Commission (PC&EC) Commission is the environmental policymaking body for Arkansas. The PC&EC Commission sets environmental policy—drawing on guidance from the Governor, the Arkansas General Assembly, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)—that is then implemented and enforced by the Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
The Commission is comprised of seven members, three representing state agencies and four appointed by the Governor. The three agency representatives are directors, or their designee, from the Arkansas Department of Health, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and Arkansas Department of Agriculture. The four other members represent each of the four congressional districts in the state.
