Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board

Who We Are

The goal of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board (LPGB) is to work with stakeholders throughout the propane gas supply chain to create an environment that promotes industry growth, while verifying proper and safe handling of this valuable Arkansas resource.

LPGB accomplishes this goal through consumer advocacy, permitting and certification, inspections, and meaningful rules and regulations. LPGB aims to grow the liquefied petroleum industry, secure the confidence of the consumer, and ensure propane remains a viable energy source for the future.

Kevin Pfalser

Director, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board

"We protect the public and support the propane industry within Arkansas by working with stakeholders throughout the supply chain to foster consumer confidence, provide job opportunities and career paths, and secure propane as a viable energy source for generations to come. We are responsible for overseeing the proper handling, storage, and distribution of liquefied petroleum gas within Arkansas. We also set rules and compliance standards for the storage and distribution of liquefied petroleum gas and ensure industry personnel are properly trained."

AR Will Benefit from Increased Demand for Lithium

AR Will Benefit from Increased Demand for Lithium

The fascination with Arkansas’s diamond mines soon may be matched with interest in its bromine brines. A state-of-the-art facility is already extracting lithium—a critical mineral for the production of batteries and electronics—from bromine brines produced from the Jurassic Smackover Formation.
